T Words
The T sound is a voiceless alveolar stop (plosive) sound. The T sound is made by placing the tip of the tongue on the alveolar ridge behind the front, top teeth. The voice is turned off when making the T sound.
The T sound is usually acquired by the time a child is 3-4 years old; however, some children may continue to develop this sound as they age. Additionally, some children may struggle to correctly produce the T sound. These children may need specialized instruction from a speech therapist.
These T words are here to help practice the T sound at the word level. They’re great for use in speech therapy, at home, or in the classroom.
